A 40ft new high cube open side shipping container — also called a 40-foot open-side conex box — is a one-trip steel unit for sale with a full-length bi-fold side opening plus standard rear cargo doors for maximum loading flexibility. Combined with 9'6" high cube clearance, this configuration opens the entire long side for equipment staging, retail displays, and workshop conversions.
What is an open-side high cube container? Bi-fold doors along the full 40-foot side swing open to expose the entire interior width, while rear double cargo doors add end access. Built from Corten weathering steel with marine-grade plywood flooring, new one-trip units arrive near-pristine with ISO certification and a 10-year structural warranty.
Ideal for mobile workshops, retail pop-up showrooms, event equipment staging, industrial material handling, modular building projects, and logistics yards where side-loading speed matters. The open side is the defining access feature versus standard end-door-only containers.
Best when no unloading equipment is available. The driver backs into position, tilts the trailer, and slides the container directly onto the ground.
Best when a forklift or crane is available on-site. The container must be lifted off the trailer using a forklift rated for at least 15,000 lb or an appropriate crane. Conexwest can help coordinate additional placement equipment when needed.
