A 20ft new high cube full open side shipping container — also called a 20-foot open side conex box or cargo container — is a factory-fresh steel unit for sale with bi-folding side doors that open along the entire length for complete interior access. The high cube profile adds an extra foot of vertical clearance for bulky items, inventory, and custom builds you own outright.
What is a full open side container? Full-length side opening doors on both sides plus traditional cargo doors on both ends allow maximum accessibility for oversized items, palletized freight, and equipment that will not fit through standard cargo doors. Built from corrosion-resistant Corten steel in one-trip, like-new condition to ISO specifications.
Perfect for retail setups, inventory management, pop-up stores, mobile workspaces, construction storage, and custom container builds where side access saves time and hassle on every load.
Best when no unloading equipment is available. The driver backs into position, tilts the trailer, and slides the container directly onto the ground.

Best when a forklift or crane is available on-site. The container must be lifted off the trailer using a forklift rated for at least 15,000 lb or an appropriate crane. Conexwest can help coordinate additional placement equipment when needed.

Containers can usually be placed directly on a solid, level surface without a foundation. Let us know in advance if the site is wet, muddy, soft, sloped, or difficult to access.

A high cube is about one foot taller inside than a standard box of the same length.
The internal height of a 20ft High Cube container is approximately 9 feet 6 inches (2.70 meters), compared to the 7 feet 10 inches (2.39 meters) of a standard container.
This container combines the superior accessibility of full-width side doors with the extra vertical space of a High Cube model. It provides the easiest loading access and maximum storage volume in a 20ft footprint.
The High Cube (HC) design offers about 1,320 cubic feet (37.4 cubic meters) of space, which is over 150 cubic feet (or roughly 12%) more internal height and volume than a standard 20ft container. The open side design makes this entire volume easily accessible.
Yes. As a new container, it is constructed to full ISO standards with reinforced corner posts and a strong frame to handle the additional height without compromising structural integrity or stackability.
It is ideal for storing tall items, using as a spacious workshop, creating a comfortable office or retail space with high ceilings, or for maximizing cubic capacity while retaining easy forklift access for loading.
While High Cube containers are designed to be stackable, they are typically stacked on top of other High Cube containers or standard containers of the same length to ensure stability and proper locking. They should not be stacked underneath standard containers due to the height difference.
Due to its increased height, please ensure your site has clearance for delivery (e.g., no low-hanging trees or power lines). Our logistics team will work with you to ensure a smooth delivery process.
Yes. The clear span interior when the doors are open is ideal for customizations like shelving, workbenches, partition walls, or electrical systems. Explore our parts page for customization options.
