The Truck Driver role is the linchpin of Conexwest.  You are the eyes, ears and feet of our business; connecting operations and sales to provide the best service to our customers.

As a Conexwest Driver you will:

  • Deliver all portable storage containers to local customers (not an “over-the-road” Driver structure)
  • Interact with our customers building relationships throughout your territory
  • Work with our internal office and yard staff

From the moment you’re hired, you’ll know you’re on the team because Conexwest will invest in you. Our Drivers experience 2-3 weeks of training depending on your experience and retention level. After that, you’ll continue to get training and support from other Conexwest employees including weekly safety trainings.

Assistant dispatcher

Location: San Francisco, CA, US

Job Summary:

The primary focus of this position is to ensure the Conexwest Units are successfully delivered and picked-up from customer sites, ensuring the drivers are following all safety and DOT regulations. This role will supervise the team of drivers and assign their daily duties.

Principal Responsibilities:

  1. Promotes safety first for all areas of dispatch. Ensures drivers are following all safety policies and procedures and will conduct safety meetings
  2. Supervises team of branch and operations yard Drivers, which includes:
    • Scheduling and assigning drivers and vehicles to convey Conexwest Units
    • Reviews next day/week deliveries and pick-ups and develops a dispatch plan
    • Notifies drivers of daily assignments
    • Tracks Drivers out on delivery/pick-up
    • Assists Drivers in troubleshooting when necessary
    • Sets daily and weekly priorities for the team
    • Conducts performance discussions and trainings
    • Ensures Drivers have collected all appropriate documentation and signatures related to delivery/pick-up of units and offices and will work with the Driver and Customer if the unit/office is damaged
  3. Communicates with customers to assist in scheduling daily/weekly activities
  4. Informs customer of delivery/pick-up times
  5. Answers customer questions about delivery/pick-up
  6. Maintains daily log files and preventative maintenance files and records the information into the appropriate systems. Ensures all daily/weekly/monthly paperwork is completed, recorded and filed
  7. Maintains branch’s budgeted trucking profit margin
  8. Coordinates with outside vendors regarding trucking and deliveries. This will include outside hauling services, as needed, and assisting Drivers with obtaining required annual, monthly and daily city/state transportation permits
  9. Works with branch and corporate sales to determine driver schedule availability, and when available, can schedule deliveries/pick-ups outside of current dispatch schedule
  10. Other duties as assigned

  • Installs doors, locks, and other parts to meet needs of customers
  • Maintains records of work completed in order to provide an accounting of activities in on the shop floor.
