A 40ft used open top soft roof shipping container — also called a 40-foot soft-top open conex box — is a large steel unit for sale built for vertical loading of oversized freight across a full 40-foot cargo bay. The removable tarpaulin roof and bow system open the entire length for crane loading while Corten steel walls maintain container strength.
How does soft-top differ from hard-top? The flexible tarp and bow assembly is lighter and faster to remove than steel hard-top panels, making it ideal for frequent top-loading cycles. Used units are inspected for structural integrity and functionality, with cosmetic character consistent with prior shipping service.
Ideal for manufacturing staging, heavy machinery transport, bulk material storage, scrap operations, and logistics teams moving tall or awkward cargo. Marine-grade flooring and wind- and water-tight wall construction protect loads between loading cycles.
Best when no unloading equipment is available. The driver backs into position, tilts the trailer, and slides the container directly onto the ground.
Best when a forklift or crane is available on-site. The container must be lifted off the trailer using a forklift rated for at least 15,000 lb or an appropriate crane. Conexwest can help coordinate additional placement equipment when needed.
