Delivery Information:

Tilt-bed truck

Delivery of the 20’ shipping storage container is done with the help of a flat-bed truck. Due to its small truck size and tight turning radius, it is the perfect choice for any project in any location, especially if your shipping storage container needs to be delivered in the inner city, on mountain roads, or to limited access sites.

In order to ensure safe and successful loading of the Conexwest storage container, we recommend that you have at least 60 ft of straight-line clearance for loading and unloading.

Prior to delivery, Conexwest will work with you to assess the road, loading, and unloading area for the shipping storage container, as well as the door orientation of the container (i.e., the cab or rear of the truck during shipping).

General Questions | Delivery QuestionsPayment Questions

GENERAL QUESTIONS

What are storage containers made of?

Shipping storage containers are made of a specific steel alloy called "corten steel". Corten steel differs from other types of steel in its physical properties that make it weldable and rust-resistant, which makes it the perfect material for building units for the safe storage of goods.

Are storage containers waterproof?

A standard shipping storage container made of Corten steel is able to withstand drastic temperature changes. But using shipping containers in extreme humidity environments without proper care can lead to corrosion and loss of its waterproof characteristics.

Should I rent a portable storage container?

Renting a storage container is a convenient solution whether you are looking to fulfill short-term needs or rent container storage for a long period of time.

How much weight can a storage container hold?

Empty 20’ shipping storage containers weigh 5,071.5 lbs (2,300 kg). Its loading capacity is 1,172 cubic ft (33.2 m3) with loads up to 24 tons.

What items cannot be stored in your rented containers?

It is not allowed to live in our shipping storage containers or to store dangerous, illegal, unsanitary, explosive, staining, malodorous, or hazardous materials in any Conexwest container. It is not recommended to store any collectibles, currencies, software, heirlooms, jewelry, works of art, or anything of sentimental value in the containers. If you are unsure if your goods are prohibited or not ideal for storing in a rental container, please call us at (877) 904-5533 or email us: [email protected]

What additional features are found on portable containers?

A storage container can include different features which may be adapted for a variety of purposes, both for personal and commercial use. Some of these features can be rented and purchased with a container from us, such as container ramps, consumables, locks, shelving racks, light kits, Wi-Fi, and container parts. To see our full assortment and prices, please visit the accessories & parts page.

I’m not sure what kind of storage accessories I need for my situation! Can you help?

Yes, we can help you choose what accessories will be perfect for you and your project. Feel free to call us at (877) 904-5533 or email us: [email protected]

What happens next if my container is damaged during the rental period?

Conexwest will not charge clients for minor damage, such as scratches and dents, which can appear during loading, unloading, or normal usage of the shipping storage container. Damage such as holes, graffiti, broken windows or doors, latches, overspray, floor damages, and other damage due to misuse or wrong transportation (in case a client would like to make delivery with their personal vehicle), will need to be paid by the client to Conexwest. The amount needed to pay will be decided after a review of all damages acquired during renting period.

DELIVERY QUESTIONS

Do you offer delivery services?

Yes, the Conexwest Team provides delivery services for our storage containers.

When can the shipping container be delivered or picked up?

All-time slots are coordinated with the client in the first or second part of the day from 7am-6pm (PST), Monday to Saturday. For more information please call us at (877) 904-5533 or email: [email protected]

Do you deliver on Sundays?

Yes, we can deliver on Sunday upon request.

Can I pick up or return the container with my own vehicle?

Yes, you can pick up and return the container with the help of your own vehicle. However, this will only be possible after inspection of the vehicle from the Conexwest Team in order to meet the insurance indemnification requirements.

How should I prepare my site for storage container delivery?

Before a truck with a storage container will be delivered to the requested location, it is necessary to properly prepare the site. Shipping containers should be placed on leveled solid ground (which can be on a road or on your property). If the delivery site is not leveled properly, wooden blocks will be needed to correct the level. Another important point is that trucks may need a certain amount of height and width clearance for delivery, depending on the size of your storage container. The Conexwest Team will explain and help you be fully prepared for unloading the storage container on your property.

Do I need to obtain a permit before placing a storage container on my property?

Depending on your location, a permit for placing storage containers on your private property may be required. Corresponding rules and regulations can be found by contacting your local municipal authority.

How much room do I need to fit a storage container on my site?

As the container arrives on a flat-bed truck, we recommend having at least a 60 ft straight line for unloading for a 20 ft storage container. Please note that the container arrives with the doors facing the cab of a truck unless otherwise specified.

Do I need a lock for my rented storage container?

To ensure the proper safety of your belongings, we recommend a lock to latch the doors. You may use your own lock or you can consult our locks page to choose the one that suits your needs.

Do I need to be present for the delivery of my storage container?

We prefer that you are present during the delivery to identify the correct place to park the unit on your property as well as to verify the condition of the container.

Can my storage container be stacked?

Yes, shipping storage containers can be safely stacked on top of each other. You will need a crane on-site to perform this task.
